Howie Burkhalter has more than forty years of ministry experience, mostly as an elder in the Presbyterian Church in America. While an elder, he served in vocational ministry as a pastor, leadership developer, and church planter. He also served as a lay elder while he practiced law. This combination of vocational ministry, lay ministry and workplace experience provides a broad base for his coaching.
He began his work as a Gospel coach in 2019 and has coached a wide variety of ministry leaders – including pastors, church planters, church staff members, chaplains and parachurch ministry leaders. Since he retired from his law practice in July, 2023, Howie has focused his ministry on Gospel Coaching and serving in the local church (while also continuing his quest to break 80 on the golf course).
Howie received a M.A.T.S. from RTS-Charlotte in 2002 and has recently begun a D.Min. program through Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
He and his wife Kim live in Greensboro, NC. They have five adult children – four of whom are married – and eight grandchildren. They joined the Anglican Communion in 2022 and are active members of Church of the Redeemer in Greensboro.
