Jesus\' Ministry Impacts Your Ministry

This week, as we consider the depth of the Father's love for us and the willingness of Jesus to take our punishment, we realize that gospel not only has power to transform, it is power. We don't transform ourselves. The holy Trinity is the power we need. And we need to be reminded of this every. single. day. This is one of the reasons that CMM Gospel Coaches exist.

For example, Gospel Coach Bob uses common themes when he coaches. He describes two of these themes well:

“First, I like to review Psalm 139 (“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me”) with my guys and ask how the Holy Spirit might be showing them ways that they are worshiping their performance instead of God. I want to help them see the sin within the sin and help lead them to joyful repentance. Empowering, emboldening change happens when people have joyful repentance.

“I also like to discuss Luke 10 when Jesus sends the disciples out on a mission. I ask my guys if they are happy about the results of their ministry and if they are coming back to report to Jesus about their ministry because they should really be rejoicing in God’s grace. They should be delighting in God’s grace. I want the guys I coach to find power in Christ to do the job that he has for them to do and find joy and power in Christ and not in their flesh.”

Remember, as you go into your work this week, sin is not a hindrance to God's work in your life. Sin is the reason God is at work in your life. Let's rest in Him. Let's celebrate the resurrection of our Savior and the restorative work He does in our lives on a daily basis!
