Problems? What Problems?

Healthy Christian leaders are essential to the church and to ministry. How has the health at your church been since the global pandemic changed our ministry world and lives? Have you been struggling to solve problems that seem larger than life?

CMM Vice President, Jim Moon, Jr. was recently coaching a pastor and had this to say,

“I was coaching a pastor of a church in a large urban center when he brought up the difficulty of shepherding a particular person in the congregation. He said, 'I've spent hours over the course of many years but no matter what I do, it never seems to be enough. Typically I can figure out a plan of action but in this case I don't think I'll ever do it right in their eyes.'

“As I asked more questions, the light went on in his mind. It became clear to him that his expectations were the problem he could address. He was trying to solve the problem, to be the savior in this situation.

“When I asked him, ‘What do you think Jesus wants you to do with this problem?’ With a wry smile on his face, he said, ‘Jesus is calling me to deeper dependence on Him. He's teaching me to be reliant on Him and consciously rest in Him.’”

What is Jesus calling you to do with your problems today?

Thank you for being a part of the work where “all over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing” (Colossians 1:6).
